Euro White 4″ Speedometer – 55MPH (Pitot)

Perimeter-lighted White dial with bold Black graphics, Black aluminum bezel, contoured White pointer and flat glass lens.

Pitot tube type speedometers operate by pressure from the water being forced into the pitot tube. This pressure is then transmitted through flexible tubing to the bourdon tube movement inside the speedometer head where it is converted into a speed reading by the movement mechanism.

The pulses are then electronically converted into speed readings, just as a tachometer converts ignition pulses into rpm. Pitot tube speedometers work by pressing water into the pressure of the pitot tube. Then, the pressure is transmitted through the flexible tube to the movement of the Bourdon tube inside the speedometer head, where it is converted into a speed reading by the movement mechanism.
